Works of the Flesh are the visible fruit of the old nature.
Paul said they are evident:
sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.
Those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
The list is not a puzzle. It is a mirror. Walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires that grow this crop.
Galatians sets two fields beside each other. The flesh has works. The Spirit has fruit. Works can be counted and named. They come in clusters that ruin worship and ruin one another. Some are sins of the body. Some are sins of the shrine. Many are sins of the meeting: anger, rivalry, division. The church that only preaches against the first cluster and blesses the third has not read the list. Paul says he warns them as he warned before. Inheritance is at stake—not because a stumble erases the cross, but because a life that stays at home in these works has not crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. The works are evident. They do not require secret knowledge to spot. They require honesty. Desire conceives. Sin is born. What was hidden in the heart becomes a deed, then a habit, then a people who cannot sit at one table. Against that harvest stands the fruit of the Spirit, and the cross on which those who belong to Christ have already nailed the flesh. Confess. Put to death. Walk.

- Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh. The works are no longer their assignment.

- False Worship – Idolatry, sorcery.
- Relational Sins – Enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy.
- Excess – Drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.
- Open Pattern – Not one fall only; a way that will not inherit.
- Opposed by the Spirit – Desire against desire; fruit against works.
- Ended at the Cross – Crucified with its passions and desires.

- Revelation 21:8 – The cowardly, faithless, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars—their portion in the lake of fire.
- Titus 3:3-5 – “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy… But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us.”
- Matthew 15:19 – “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.”
- Galatians 6:7-8 – Whatever one sows, that will he also reap; sow to the flesh, reap corruption.
- 1 John 3:8-10 – Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil; whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
The works of the flesh are evident.
I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Walk by the Spirit. You will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Enmity and strife belong on the same list as immorality and sorcery. Do not bless the ones that keep a respectable face.
Such were some of you. But you were washed, sanctified, justified.

Put to death what is earthly. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Bear the fruit that the Spirit grows.
