Earth is the world God formed, filled, and gave to the children of men.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth,
and the earth was without form and void
until He spoke light, land, and life into order.
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.
It is also the place of the curse,
the field of the gospel,
and the inheritance that will be made new.
Scripture uses earth for the dry land,
- for the inhabited world,
- and for the whole lower creation set under heaven.
God gathered the waters and called the dry land Earth.
- He blessed living creatures and gave man dominion over the earth, to fill it and to subdue it.
- After sin the ground was cursed; thorns and sweat entered the work of human hands.
- The flood judged the earth, and God covenanted that seedtime and harvest would not cease while the earth remains.
The psalms say the earth is the Lord’s.
- The meek shall inherit the earth.
- Jesus taught His people to pray that the Father’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
- The gospel is to be preached in all the world as a testimony to the nations.
- Peter says the earth and the works done on it will be exposed, and that we wait for a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Earth is therefore gift, trust, battlefield, and promised home—never a god, and never outside the rule of its Maker.
- The earth is created, not eternal, and it belongs to the Lord.
- Man was given dominion as a steward, not as an owner who answers to no one.
- Sin brought a curse on the ground; redemption includes the hope of a renewed earth.
- The earth is the stage of God’s patience and of the church’s mission.
- Heaven and earth will pass away; the word of Jesus will not.
- The meek inherit the earth; the proud treat it as if it were theirs alone.
- The last word is not a discarded planet but a new earth where God dwells with man.

- Colossians 1:16, 20 – All things were created through Him and for Him; through Him God reconciles all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross.
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.
He made it. He named it. He gave it to the children of men as a trust, not as a throne.
The ground was cursed because of sin, yet seedtime and harvest still come while the earth remains.
Pray that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Preach to the end of the earth.
The meek will inherit the earth. The proud will not keep it.
This earth will pass away, and God will make a new one in which righteousness dwells.
Do not worship the earth. Do not despise it. Belong to the Lord of the earth, and wait for the world He will make new.
